Kevään saapuminen ja sulava lumi paljastivat Kivirinteen mökin ympäriltä entistä upeamman metsämaiseman. Talven aikana osa tonttia ympäröivistä puista poistettiin, mikä avarsi merkittävästi näkymää järvelle ja toi mökkiin runsaasti lisää luonnonvaloa.

Kevään aikana olemme siistineet metsäreittejä ja mökin ympäristöä raivaamalla aluskasvillisuutta. Olemme myös asentaneet useita uusia linnunpönttöjä sekä kylväneet metsänpuron varrelle luonnonkukkien siemeniä – toiveena kesän värikäs kukkaloisto, joka houkuttelee paikalle perhosia ja pölyttäjiä.

Kivirinteessä tunnelma on nyt entistä vahvemmin aidon järvenrantamökin tuntuinen. Työ jatkuu: parannamme kulkua järvelle mökiltä ja toteutamme myöhemmin vuoden aikana myös muita uudistuksia.

The arrival of spring and the melting snow unveiled a better forest landscape at Kivirinne cabin. Some trees surrounding the property were removed during the winter, substantially enhancing the lake view from the cottage and permitting an increased amount of natural light to enter.

During the spring we have been clearing the brushwood away from our forest paths and cottage vicinity. We have installed numerous new bird boxes and sown wildflower seeds along the forest stream, which will hopefully provide a vibrant display of colours that will attract butterflies and bees.

Kivirinne now has a much more of a ‘lakeside’ feel and we’ll continue to improve the access to the lake from the cottage as well as other exciting upgrades planned for later this year.
