Where is Kivirinne?

Kivirinne is on the Lansihuippu (West Peak) part of the resort, a short distance from the more heavily developed accommodation area. The cabin is located at Kivijärventie 98 (61.870254, 25.305132). Himoshuipuntie continues directly to Loilontie and at the first intersection to the right at Kivijärventie. The road goes around the back of the mountain's Western slopes, follow the KIVIRINNE signs to the cottage, until the end of the road. From its location it is a short 5 minute drive to either the top of the Western slopes or over to the top of the Northern slopes. To the main resort and parking at the bottom of the hill is also a 5 minute drive where you can find restaurants, bars etc.

If you're really brave in the winter, it may be possible to walk 750 meters to the top of the West Slopes along a hiking path directly from Kivirinne (see link). Good sense of direction and snowshoes recommended!
